Vanished Whiz-Bangs

5:57 AM Posted by Unknown , , , , , No comments

Shirt: Ralph Lauren | Skirt: Greenhills | Jacket: Danskin Now (Walmart) | Shoes: Converse

In case you still haven't figured it out, this outfit is almost exactly the same as the previous outfit. I thought it would be appropriate because I called the last outfit "Wildfire Whiz-bangs". These are the magical fireworks produced by Fred and George, first seen in the Order of the Phoenix. You can't really do anything about those fireworks--when you try to get rid of them with a vanishing charm, they only multiply!

Thus, this outfit is the Vanished Whiz-Bang.

Alternatively, this can also be an allusion to time travelling or a different take on "repeating outfits". If you've been reading my blog for quite a while now, you would know that I started this blog as a log of what I wore so that I wouldn't repeat the exact same outfit the next week (not that I have any particular grievances towards outfit repeating; as my aunt would say "if it looks good and it works for you, then flaunt it."

bow: Pinkbox

See, I even took the accessorizing to the last detail by putting a bow--something that I'm setting out to be a staple piece of my daily outfits from now on (if I can take the over-girliness and the cutesy attributes it gives off).

Apart from outfit repeating, I'm also notorious for pose repeating. I do admit that I'm still uncomfortable in front of the camera (and it's probably going to be something I will forever be). I still feel goofy whenever I do this and finding flattering poses and angles is somewhat hard for me because I don't even see what the camera sees while I'm taking these pictures. These are what some people might call glorified selfies.

I even tried to put a chair on to try setting the focus with low aperture, but it still turned out blurry. Oh well. I really want a camera remote u.u

Or sometimes I would take pictures and it would be perfect and focused--BUT I WON'T BE ON THE PICTURE AT ALL. This can get frustrating sometimes and asking other people to take my pictures is even more awkward.

But sometimes, it works out, so it's all good. I'm waiting for my older sister to come home so we can finally watch Hannibal. If you are reading this and you haven't started Hannibal yet, go watch it now. You won't regret it (well, you might, if you're squeemish about the whole "omg he eats humans" thing).

Wildfire Whiz-Bang

7:05 AM Posted by Unknown , , , , No comments

Top: Mango | Skirt: Greenhills | Sneakers: Converse

I feel like this colorful outfit makes up for the black and white filled posts of last week.

I've always been hesitant to wear something this colorful but I've always always wanted to. I remember in high school, my school would have neon days for the night's football game. Back then I didn't really own anything neon or wore anything apart from the generic jeans + shirt + jacket + tennis shoes. This is why in college, I've opted to wear less jeans.

This post was supposed to be for yesterday but because I was too lazy to set up the camera, I asked my sister if I could borrow her phone instead. Transferring the files took too long--apparently, google and dropbox just wouldn't cooperate with our internet connection yesterday.

The files were too big, so when I finally downloaded it on my laptop, I immediately resized them. But hey, high quality photos, am i right?

Some photos were a bit overexposed though. I do admit that when I got home yesterday, the sun was too bright, but usually camera phones compensate for that right? Oh well

hair bow: Pinkbox

Also, this is the first time I've worn a bow on my hair! The other day my sister and I bought so much bows so expect to see me wear more bows in the future.

ring: H&M

I'm not sure if it's just the angle or if the phone camera does some weird things but my legs definitely look longer in these shots :D

I'm posting today's outfit tomorrow instead (and it's gonna be a big shock because.........). hahah!

AMSTUD Field Trip

3:50 AM Posted by Unknown , , No comments
On March 21st, my fellow American Studies classmates and I went on a field trip to the US Embassy in Manila (follow them on twitter and facebook)and to the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial.

I would've taken pictures but because I knew we were going to the US Embassy, I figured that we weren't allowed to bring electronics. This is why I went to school with nothing--no phone, no iPad, and foolishly enough, no ID (it was a good thing they still let me inside). However, my classmates brought their fancy smartphones and just surrendered them upon entrance.

Which is why all the pictures here were from my classmates. Mostly by Justine, though because she was my bus buddy!

This is the whole gang. My friends and I all sat at the very far end of the bus because that's where the cool kids sit. It's kind of funny how we were all told to wear blue--the passers-by must have assumed we were from our rival university.

Me and Justine with Alaine's derpy face. It was also really cold in the bus.

We were obviously not allowed to take pictures in the US Embassy but what I can say is that I learned so much from the speakers they brought in at the Thomas Jefferson Information Center and that the interior and exterior of the place was amazing and filled with so much history. I can't wait to work there someday.

For lunch, we ate at Kpub BBQ (also on Facebook). It's one of those restaurants where they bring you your food raw and you'd have to cook it yourself which was very unfortunate for us because we weren't sure if the meat we were eating was already cooked.

Later on when the attendant came by to get more of our orders, she told us that the meat we were cooking were already burnt. All of the meat we ate were burnt. Oops.

Here's everyone again.

Once finished eating, we all went to the parking lot to wait for the bus. It took a long time but at least we weren't waiting for the bus in the rain.

While waiting for the bus everyone went wild and took a whole bunch of oscar selfies. This guy on the bottom right is as big as a moose with a longer reach so he can include waaaay more people on his selfies.

and more goofy shots.

Before going to the cemetery, we were told off for taking goofy pictures and were warned to pay respects to the dead and not be too hyper.

The cemetery was beautiful. This picture doesn't give justice to the symmetry and order of the crosses (and some Stars of David).

The chapel.

The view of Taguig

Justine

The Star Spangled Banner

Taguig. You can see the straight white rows behind the trees.

The place was massive.

Behind Justine you can see names etched on the wall. These are the people who were Missing In Action.

I felt really bad wearing my High School National History Club shirt because I sincerely don't want History to Repeat itself, but it was the only blue shirt I own and we were told to wear jeans and I really hate jeans as well.

This place was so pretty, ok? It was well kept and very peaceful. I wish I can return here soon.

GCW: Green

7:58 AM Posted by Unknown , , , , No comments

Skirt from Forever 21, Sandals from People are People, Shirt from Belk

This is the outfit that has troubled me most. I just realized last night that I barely have any green shirts in my closet. That's kind of embarrassing because my university's colors are green and I'm also a Slytherin.

Also, I have a confession to make, I didn't actually go to school looking like this. I barely wore any accessories and I certainly didn't have enough time to fix my hair. When I got home, I fixed myself up the way I would've if I had time to spare in the morning, anyway. I did have time to do all those, but I left early in order to get to my 8am class on time only to find out that our class was cancelled! Ugh.

Oh well.

This is my favorite skirt just because it has pockets--pockets!!!! I believe that everything should have pockets, however because I wear women's clothing, not much of my clothes have pockets. Why, though? I hate it. Dresses don't have pockets, skirts don't have pockets, our jeans don't have pockets (fake pockets are just... no)... while men's clothing have pockets that can fit pocket books. It's not fair.

I honestly don't have much pictures because I looked way too goofy in the shots and was too tired to re-take them. I always look so different when I put my hair up or when I wear earrings... I'm still not used to it.

photo grabbed from jam

For lunch, my college friends and I ate at Topside Diner. I wish I could've taken photos but I don't own a fancy smart phone, but I promised one of my friends that I'd take him there on Monday, so I'd probably take pictures on Monday instead. (So wait for my real post about this lovely restaurant coming on Monday!)

All I'm telling is that the food here is great and they're located directly in front of St. Scho's.

GCW: Yellow

5:21 AM Posted by Unknown , , , , No comments

Yellow button down from Papaya, Houndstooth print skirt from Candies at Kohl's, White loafers from Nine West, bangles from Rue 21, Earrings and Necklace from gifts

Day 2 of Google Campus Week and I still haven't gotten a chance to get a free Kitkat. I've been coming to school real late so that by the time I arrive in line, supplies have already gone!

Anyway, true to this week's theme, I dressed up in black and white + google color of the day. For some reason, this outfit makes me feel so 80s, old western, or like the family business is a Texan ranch farm or something. This is probably why I decided to wear my hair in braided pigtails!

I wasn't really planning on "fixing" my hair today (which is why when this picture was taken, my hair was still somewhat a mess). Also, I really really love this skirt because it instantly glams up any outfit. Before I knew that this print was called "houndstooth", I've always referred to this as my cow print skirt... please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks these look like cow prints. Maybe that's why I feel like I work in a ranch/farm.

This post also marks the first time I've worn earrings and not worn my glasses for this blog. You know how I mostly take my own photos and run towards the viewpoint to beat the self-timer? Well, imagine doing that with impaired vision--it's not that fun. Also, yesterday I mentioned tremors on my legs, right? Today I woke up and my leg muscles hurt so much. I'm still not sure what's wrong with me--I don't remember over exerting myself yesterday.

To finish off the look, I decided to use this bright orange bag today! I didn't bring much to school today--just a pen, a sheet of paper, and my phone! This is why I can never take "what's in my bag" posts that seriously because I don't really bring much... unless I actively pack my bag with enough time. Most of the time, I'm running late and I always change my bag everyday so I just take the essentials. Somedays I don't even bring a pen! x.x

Oh, well.

GCW: Red

8:24 AM Posted by Unknown , , , , , , No comments

Polkadot top from Ross, grey cardigan from Papaya, Red skater skirt from @glambitionph on Instagram, black and silver flats from Parisian at SM Department

For some strange reason, i've been shaking a lot today. It's like, when i'm sitting down, my right leg starts shaking. Actually, it's more like when i try to stay still. I shake real bad on my leg or on my forearm and it's kinda freaky because I can't stop it and I kind of loose balance... needless to say, it was very hard to take these pictures today.

Especially on these swings because every slight movement causes the whole thing to swing.

Anyway, about this outfit, I decided to go with the theme of monochrome + the google color of the day so that it would be coherent for the whole week! I wasn't able to get a free kit-kat though because I didn't attend morning classes. The bar exam results went up today and everyone in the family was anxious for my older sister... sad to say that she didn't make it this year, but i guess that means she gets a second chance to top the bar!

Taking this shot was hard too because i couldn't stand still and tried my best to not lose my balance. I've been desperately looking for black flats and for some reason, whenever i set out to buy one, nothingis ever good enough. I settled for these flats last Friday because they were on sale and they were so shiny that I just had to have them.

This is also the first time I've tied my hair this way on this blog! I called my aunt last night and she wanted me to do more things to my hair. This hairstyle was neat for the first few hours, but then wind got in the way and bam, unruly hair once more. u.u oh well, i can't help it that my hair has a mind of its own.

By the way, today's pictures were taken by my eldest sister!!! Most of the pictures on this blog are taken through self-timer or by our maid, but today it was by my eldest sister! This is because our dad just picked us all up and said that we were going to attend a party in Cavite and it was all so last minute anyway.

Google Campus Week 1

Dress worn as a skirt from ELLE, White cropped top from H&M, Hat from Forever 21, Shoes from Primmadonna, key necklace from Greenhills, Owl ring from Charlotte Russe, Black and White bangles as a gift, Satchel from Greenhills

This is my first outfit post without a fandom related title. It's mainly because I couldn't really think of a Harry Potter related title to this except for it being like standard Hogwarts robes pre-sorting. And then this week, i'd wear different house colors per day. It's Google Campus Week at school and if you wear the assigned color, you get a free Kit-Kat. Coincidentally, the four google colors correspond to the four Hogwarts Houses as well (although a bit brighter). Look at me, relating everything to Harry Potter... u.u I can't help it, Harry Potter is my past, present, and future (lol taken out of context, Tom Marvolo Riddle sounds like an overly enthusiastic fanboy). But this week, It would be about the Google Campus Week.

Thus, the generic fashion blog title of "Google Campus Week 1".

This is the first week that i'm actively putting some sort of theme to my outfits (apart from that week when I wore yellows + florals mostly, which was a total accident). I only found out that it was Google Campus Week last night after I had already painted my nails like these, then i thought that it would be perfect! I've always wanted to sport black and white nails and even if I did it a bit messily, I'm happy with it and it would definitely go perfectly with the outfits for this week!

So, a perfect way to start Google Campus Week is to wear neutral colors!

Not gonna lie, I'll probably wear these shoes the most this week.

See you!
