Vanished Whiz-Bangs

5:57 AM Posted by Unknown , , , , , No comments

Shirt: Ralph Lauren | Skirt: Greenhills | Jacket: Danskin Now (Walmart) | Shoes: Converse

In case you still haven't figured it out, this outfit is almost exactly the same as the previous outfit. I thought it would be appropriate because I called the last outfit "Wildfire Whiz-bangs". These are the magical fireworks produced by Fred and George, first seen in the Order of the Phoenix. You can't really do anything about those fireworks--when you try to get rid of them with a vanishing charm, they only multiply!

Thus, this outfit is the Vanished Whiz-Bang.

Alternatively, this can also be an allusion to time travelling or a different take on "repeating outfits". If you've been reading my blog for quite a while now, you would know that I started this blog as a log of what I wore so that I wouldn't repeat the exact same outfit the next week (not that I have any particular grievances towards outfit repeating; as my aunt would say "if it looks good and it works for you, then flaunt it."

bow: Pinkbox

See, I even took the accessorizing to the last detail by putting a bow--something that I'm setting out to be a staple piece of my daily outfits from now on (if I can take the over-girliness and the cutesy attributes it gives off).

Apart from outfit repeating, I'm also notorious for pose repeating. I do admit that I'm still uncomfortable in front of the camera (and it's probably going to be something I will forever be). I still feel goofy whenever I do this and finding flattering poses and angles is somewhat hard for me because I don't even see what the camera sees while I'm taking these pictures. These are what some people might call glorified selfies.

I even tried to put a chair on to try setting the focus with low aperture, but it still turned out blurry. Oh well. I really want a camera remote u.u

Or sometimes I would take pictures and it would be perfect and focused--BUT I WON'T BE ON THE PICTURE AT ALL. This can get frustrating sometimes and asking other people to take my pictures is even more awkward.

But sometimes, it works out, so it's all good. I'm waiting for my older sister to come home so we can finally watch Hannibal. If you are reading this and you haven't started Hannibal yet, go watch it now. You won't regret it (well, you might, if you're squeemish about the whole "omg he eats humans" thing).

Wildfire Whiz-Bang

7:05 AM Posted by Unknown , , , , No comments

Top: Mango | Skirt: Greenhills | Sneakers: Converse

I feel like this colorful outfit makes up for the black and white filled posts of last week.

I've always been hesitant to wear something this colorful but I've always always wanted to. I remember in high school, my school would have neon days for the night's football game. Back then I didn't really own anything neon or wore anything apart from the generic jeans + shirt + jacket + tennis shoes. This is why in college, I've opted to wear less jeans.

This post was supposed to be for yesterday but because I was too lazy to set up the camera, I asked my sister if I could borrow her phone instead. Transferring the files took too long--apparently, google and dropbox just wouldn't cooperate with our internet connection yesterday.

The files were too big, so when I finally downloaded it on my laptop, I immediately resized them. But hey, high quality photos, am i right?

Some photos were a bit overexposed though. I do admit that when I got home yesterday, the sun was too bright, but usually camera phones compensate for that right? Oh well

hair bow: Pinkbox

Also, this is the first time I've worn a bow on my hair! The other day my sister and I bought so much bows so expect to see me wear more bows in the future.

ring: H&M

I'm not sure if it's just the angle or if the phone camera does some weird things but my legs definitely look longer in these shots :D

I'm posting today's outfit tomorrow instead (and it's gonna be a big shock because.........). hahah!

Fizzing Whizzbees

Wide sleeved shirt from Fad District, Pink skater skirt with suspenders from DJ chic Collezionne, Sneakers from Converse with Tokidoki laces, Tote shoulder bag from Aeropostale, Ring from H&M, necklace from Charlotte Russe, beaded bracelet from Kohl's, Gold bangle from a gift

Fizzing Whizzbees are a popular magical sweet sold in Honeydukes sweetshop in Hogsmeade. They are large sherbet balls that will cause a person who sucks on them to float a few inches off the ground. Rumor has it hat this phenomenon is due to the secret ingredient of dried Billywig stings because being stuck by a Billywig will make a person levitate for a few seconds. However this rumor might just be an inspiration from the urban legends about sweets, including Bubble Yum, the world's first non-hard chewing gum, which was softened through spider's eggs. (From the Harry Potter Wikia).

I named this outfit after Fizzing Whizzbees because it's color is primarily pink and it's very girly and light which makes you feel like you're floating--like you couldn't care less what other people thought. And that's probably one of my biggest new year resolutions (haha, three months in and I'm just now talking about my new year's resolutions).

What exactly are my New Year's resolutions? Honestly, I'm not quite sure.

Maybe the first obvious one is to lessen my intake of inappropriate starches (what my sister calls bags of chips). I used to spend at least P200 per week over those--don't judge me, I love my cheap chips to bits especially if you're eating them while marathoning a whole bunch of TV shows (see list of current fandoms to the right of my blog, aka Hannibal, mmm that tends to get both me and my sister lose and gain our appetite). But this is as far as I go towards "healthy living"

"Healthy Living"? Nope. Pancit Canton 4EVER!
Lately, I've spent my money on baking supplies. A new baking supply store just opened recently (if by recently you mean within six months) near our house and they're owned and staffed by the friendliest people ever. (I'm going to make a post about them this Saturday, if they let me!). And yes, this is another of my New Year's resolutions!

However, my real new year's resolution is this blog! I may be a month late in actually taking it seriously but hey, better late than pregnant never. I'm starting out to be more positive in my life. I've noticed that if you surround yourself with negative thoughts then you will always only perceive the world to be negative. It's finally time to stop being so pessimistic and to take pleasure in the little things.

It could be watching a really heart breaking movie in one of your classes.

I sat alone in the back and cried my heart out for Enjolras and sang along to the songs and told the guy in front of me to join me in barricading the classroom on Monday!

Maybe take joy in using your free period to browse the internet in the university computer lab? Time well spent.

Or really good notes you took in High School. These are my AP US Government notes that I studied again today because I took part 2 of my diagnostic test. So far, I feel really good about it---it could even be the fact that you tried your best in your academics. I mean, hey, you may not be the smartest or the brightest, but at least you know you put an effort into things.

Wilson Jones Binder from the Office Depot
It could even be as simple as a pretty binder that totally matches your outfit, really.

And that there are little pretty things. But honestly, this ring is so attention grabbing that I tend to keep the ribbon side inside my palm (and I may love wearing rings, but I love to fist bump more. Aaah problems).

Know that the ground you walk on is here because someone made it so. Know that the world exists because of the harmony of nature--inherent opposites.

Just, moral of the story? Don't let anyone stop you from doing anything. Don't let the fear of embarrassment hinder you from doing anything. Live life like crazy. and procrastinate doing your 10 page final paper due tomorrow because #YOLO

circus

Cream Circus Crop top from Genevieve Gozum, Black skater skirt from glambitionph on IG, pink two-laced Converse, Vivani interchangeable strap watch from Macy’s, pink jacket from Greenhills, neon pink shoulder bag from Aeropostalé.

I was feeling very pink today!

It’s almost Valentine’s day and it’s also my school’s University Week so we have a lot of booths and activities set up in school—one of which is a henna booth!

You can see my last name written in Gallifreyan on my forearm (I wanted to have the anti-demonic possession sigil on my forearm but I go to a Christian school and they might misunderstand, I also wanted the Deathly Hallows symbol but that one was too simple).

Today, I wore a really cute circus-themed crop top and a black skater skirt (which is my favorite combination), but because crop tops are against the dress code, I wore a pink jacket over it. I also matched my outfit with my pink converse and a neon pink shoulder bag and my pink watch.

Also, because it’s almost Valentine’s day, I also decided to have a cutesy Valentine’s themed nail art!

I hope I remember to take a picture of my outfit for tomorrow (=゚ω゚)ノ
